I've tried very hard (for some days) to understand and to enjoy this wine. During the development of the wine the sour/sweet balance was problematic with a kind of artificial acidity. Obviously made with care this wine didn't convince me.

Strawberry on the nose. On the palate, strawberry, sour cherry, quinine, and orange peel, with strong acidity and medium to fine bubbles. This calls itself Lambrusco, but it really falls outside that category. The color is pale and cloudy, and it's subtle rather than assertive as Lambrusco normally is. It seems like something Cornelissen would make if he made sparkling wine. Very good value for money at about $15.

“The Wines of Emilia Romagna”-tasting at restaurant incantina in Frankfurt. The wine was light red in colour, with an orange tinge. It had a light, fine perlage and offered red fruit, raspberry, strawberry, raw red meat, sulphur, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. On the palate the medium-bodied wine showed red fruit, raspberry, strawberry, San Bitter, sulphur, tobacco and a hint of chocolate, with creamy mousse, a nice acidic spine and very good length of the dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Not disgorged. Needs food. A great Lambrusco!
