100% Merlot from a small vineyard located on the plateau of St.Emilion. The summer of 2014 was not brilliant but the harvest was saved by an Indian Summer. Nice medium color with some ripening at the rim. On the nose herbs, underbrush and cedar. A smooth spicy taste with enough ripe Merlot fruit and acidity. Medium-long finish. For me this wine is ready to drink although it can easily be stored for several years. This wine dates from the period where the Bouards were co-owners. Very recently a part of the vineyard was added to Ch.l’Angelus. For this and a lot more of information don’t forget to consult Jeff Leve’s fantastic site the winecellar insider: a real treasure trove.

Slightly "brighter" flavored than most St. Emilion wines, but in a very enjoyable way. Served with Beef Bourgogne from Julia Child's recipe. We made the meal with a young 2.5 year old St. Emilion wine, but I wanted a more middle-aged (8.5 yrs) St. Emilion wine to drink with the meal, and this wine was perfect!

With a touch of fresh-brewed espresso, earth and plums, this wine is forward, soft and open. Made from 100% Merlot, there is a nice touch of ripe red and black cherries in the finish. 89-91 Pts
