Initially opened with a nose brooding of dark red fruit and provincial herbs. I thought it was going to open up more with air time, but it just became a big cranberry sweet tart. Probably just what I should expect for an $11 bottle. Paired nicely with cream of mushroom soup with beef and rice.

Rating based on current consumption. In contrast to some folks, I think this wine will age well; purple color, solid fruit and oak, and a bit tannic on the finish. Adequate acidity to carry it for 2-3 years, at least.

Nice and tannic, as Cahors Malbec tends to be. Paired swimmingly with a moderately oily steak, and then with a moderate bodied cigar. Two bottles left. Good value.

(Les Vignobles Saint Didier Parnac Cahors Prieuré de Cénac) Saturated, very dark red violet color; fresh, tart red currant nose; fresh, tart red currant palate with near medium acidity; medium-plus finish (12 months in oak; 13% alcohol) 88+ points

Simple and easily approachable wine. Fruit forward with a hint of tannin.

OK, yet nothing really noteworthy. Won't buy this again.
