1/1. His wines are always so polarizing, but so far our experience has been positive with Frank's wines. This is our first and only of the MC bottling. Medium ruby; clear. Smells like smoke, ash, red fruits, white and black pepper, soil and earthy funk, cedar, lemon, and graphite. Medium body and finish, high acidity, and flavors of red fruits, lemon, orange peel, leathery dry spices, and minerals. This is drinking well.

Pretty light medium brick cherry colour. Slightly sweet on the nose, forward, fragrant nose, comes across as slightly "hot". Palate comes across as slightly sweet and sour, with red cherry and cranberry fruit, pretty tannic with strong acidity.
Think is this my second Cornelissen wine, and probably the last. Just don't see any value in this. Yes, interesting. But mainly I drink wine for pleasure and to compliment my meal. This did neither.

Rich plum fruit, blood orange, earth, a lightly spiced undertow with clove and spice before a mineral finish. A touch of unobtrusive warms on the finish is the only thing I could nit pick here. Rich, dense, slightly sappy but lifted. No spritz, referment, or VA issues. A lively wine with richness to match.
For Cornelissen this is as close as you can get to a non-VA/clean wine. Based on recent interviews there is much more vinosity to his wines as he's letting the vineyards speak for themselves. If this is any example I'm a fan.
We had with seafood and the saline and seaweed notes were exploding with this wine. Terrific pairing.

Tiny bit of spritz - touch of refermentation? even though it has been kept cool during shipping and since purchase. Slightest touch of VA but both are nit-picking. Delicious and excellent with duck confit - ripe flavours and just barely off-dry.

Really big and overripe with searing alcohol on the nose, palate and finish. Roasted fruit and chocolate. This almost feels like it's fortified. Drying tannins on the finish. I find this pretty much undrinkable.
