  • Deep ruby colour, pale at the rim. Fruity and vanilla aromas. Cherry, blackberry and vanilla on the palate. Noticeable tannins. Prolonged length. No sediment. Good.

  • This is a Merlot-Garnacha(Grenache)-Tempranillo blend. I bought it at Lavinia in Barcelona for 11 Euro.
Medium ruby red with some bricking. Fruity nose of rhubarb and blackberries, with hints of licorice and violets. Palate is very smooth, medium weight with plenty of fruit, some tar and very fine tannins. Medium length. Quite a lovely wine, drinkable now +3 years, and very good value for the price.

  • This wine hails from Montsant and is 70% Merlot, 20% Tempranillo, and 10% Garnacha. I'll let the wacky spaniard fill in some further details on Montsant and Capcanes, if he wants to. Purchased at Sam's for $16.49.

Upon opening, the wine exhibits a ruby red color, a mute nose, and some tight tannins. Two hours later, the nose exhibits some old world rustic elegance with it's crushed ripe berries, sweet cassis, smoke, wet stone, and cedar touches. Time has allowed this full bodied wine to show concentrated sweet red currant fruit with sticky caramel, milk chocolate, spice, earth, and toasty oak on the finish. Drink it over the next 5 years. A solid 90.
