Acquired another bottle, and it was just as outstanding as the first. This wine and the Lescombes winemaker are fantastic. I highly recommend any of their Limited Release wines.

This is a fantastic Cab Franc. Pop and pour, as it didn't need decanting. Slightly lighter-bodied than our typical Cab Franc, this was a rich garnet color with a medium body, no detectable sediment in the bottle. After the first few minutes of air, this wine took on an absolutely phenomenal bouquet of dried pipe tobacco, caramel, and violets. Ripe red berries on the attack, with subtle notes of leather, burnt caramel (crème brûlée) and baking spice on the mid palate and moderate finish. This drank much better than many California wines that cost nearly twice as much. Very highly recommended. The Lescombes family are apparently 6th generation French winemakers, and their expertise is obvious. Check out their Petit Verdot Limited Release, as well! Seriously considering ordering some more...
