  • This is a wine with an identity crisis. First of all, it's a COF DOC, not a Venezie IGT. The Kermit Lynch website says the blend is 40% Friulano, 25% Chard, 25% Riesling, 10% Pinot Bianco. But the producer's site says 80% Friulano, 20% Pinot Grigio & Pinot Bianco. The wine I opened doesn't resemble any of these varieties....more like a Sauv Blanc. I really think the bottle was mis-labeled, as they do produce a SB. Lots of grass on the nose, along with some grapefruit and pear. Quite frizzante on the palate (excess CO2). Some herbal/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Medium body, medium acidity, medium finish. Crisp, refreshing. I'm rating it as a SB (otherwise I'd mark it down for lack of Friulano typicity).
