60% CS, 25% Merlot, 10% CF, 5% Malbec from the small sub-zone of Venegazzu in the southeastern portion of Montello - Colli Asolani DOC.
Decanted for an hour. Ripe blackberry, raspberry, cassis, tobacco, pencil shavings, tarragon, anise, cloves, old leather black licorice. A hint of green bell pepper. Medium + body, great tannins that are still quite firm at 12 years old. Lovely with braised beef. Very similar to good left bank Bordeaux.

Nice bottle age on this, showing secondary characteristics of dried flowers and oak, while still having enough lift from acidity and fruit to make it a pleasure to sip. Flavors of red and purple fruits, espresso, baking spice.

Really just reminded me of Bordeaux with not a whole lot of Italian characteristics. Ready to drink right away and good with most food but not required. Dusty black fruit, juicy red, leather, spice, and some sweetness on the finish. Fully developed with soft tannin. Drink now or in the next 2-3 years.

Sturdy, dusty, minerally, classically structured, blackcurrants and black cherries, good weight, grippy but ripe tannins, broad shoulders, lively acidity, spices, very good length. An old-fashioned Bordeaux blend, needs time to soften and come together. At restaurant Santini, London, UK.
