Medium purple colour. Pronounced aroma of smoke, dried fruit, grilled meat, plum, pepper. Medium acidity and sweetness which blends perfectly with the fine grained tannin. Strong fruit flavours of stewed plum, cherry, blueberry. pepper and spice present throughout. Medium body, long dry finish. Very good wine, good fruit flavours, length and complexity. The drying tannin can overtake the finish and will require a few more years to reach a good balance.

Plum, cherry, red florals. Medium bodied. Elegant but ripe expression here. Stalks, new forest growth, ripe cherry. The tannins are already tucked in nicely. No rush here.

Magnificent .. decant in narrow neck decanter 1.15 hrs and stoppered after 1.45 hrs .. drank over 2hrs post decant .. the best modern Hunter Shiraz I have tasted

2014 was a great year in the Hunter, lending itself to big long lived Shiraz. However, this wine has taken a modern more refined route. Ink red in colour. Ripe berry fruit and some oak on approach to the glass. Soft succulent cherry notes and tannins appear after some time in the glass. Will keep a decade but not much longer. Went well with lamb cutlets.
