  • Hour and half decant, this is essentially the same as the previous time I drank this with the only difference being my palate has changed, hence the lower score, I enjoy jammy, oaked wine less and less recently.

  • Longer decant this time, hour and half and consumed over an additional two hours, the price point makes more sense with the extended air time, this still needs a couple of years in the cellar to mature more fully, worth procuring and putting in storage.

  • Short decant. to start out with which definitely affected the nose and palate, this needs some air time. Once it finally relaxed in the glass the nose had a distinct blackberry jam and cedar demeanor. The palate has fine grained tannins and is very low in acidity which keeps the jammy aspect alive and makes for a very smooth, supple mouth feel with continued blackberry, molasses and currant. This is a velvety smooth Meritage on the sweet side, a little too expensive but still very enjoyable.
