  A smoky, distinctive rose, with some real stuffing, particularly for the price. Strawberries on the nose are complicated on the palate by all the earthy trademarks of Cab Franc, particularly pencil shavings and bell pepper. The medium-long finish has a pleasing iodine/bitter almond finish. This is the sort of rose that can stand up well to a wide variety of dishes, but would be a slam-dunk with fish and fowl off the grill. A stunning deal from Astor Wine & Spirits for $4.50. Yes, $4.50. Go buy some.
