I should drink more Riesling from Alsace. This wine was really excellent, powerful but well balanced, tropical fruits, a hint of sweetness and a very long finish. Despite its age even on day 3 very convincing, so maybe even some room for further development? 93+.

Unfortunately the hotel where we drank this - The Vineyard in Berkshire - did not store this properly and both bottles were not flawed but very muted, brown, and verging on oxidized. Shame.

Green apples, cut flowers, some petrol on the intense nose. Lovely golden colour. Starts with racy limey mineral acidity but then there are richer, honeyed, more tropical flavours. Appears sweet because of the intensity but ends dry. Linear and then expansive. A wine of many paradoxes. Fascinating. Went brilliantly with our terrine. A great Alsace Riesling. Will still develop over the next five years.
