  • Reasonable QPR at just over $20, but I would rather pay a few more dlls and drink, say, a Vina Ardanza - a much better wine, especially if aged a decade or so after release. Or I would rather step it up yet another notch and get a Muga Seleccion Especial. This wine works best with food, thanks to its good acidity - refreshing, great for cleansing the palate. But it drinks a little flat - just not terribly interesting. Refreshing acidity, some new oak, and subued if juicy red and black fruit. Doubt additional cellar time would help much.

  • This wine is quite nice. Not as lush as some other Riojas that I have had recently, but all in all really very nice. I couldn't tell if it was the spice or tannins that created a bit of a rough edge. In any event, a good mix of fruit with leather and tobacco. IMHO in a few years this wine will be lush and literally mouth coating delicious.
