Pop and pour it was very tertiary. Decanted for 1-2 hours and the tertiary settled in, with some fresh fruit poking through. Lacking the finesse and concentration from better burgundy I've tasted, but still very enjoyable.
Fully mature, drink now.
Medium garnet colour.
Pronounced aromas of wet dirt, loam, mushroom, forest floor, sour cherry, dried cranberry, dried strawberry, red plum, nutmeg, all spice, a hint of licorice, menthol.
Pronounced palate.
Medium body, medium (+) tannins, medium (+) acidity, long finish.

Burghounds' descriptors of "power and punch on the balanced and impressively persistent finish" eluded me all three times, as did Steven Tanzers' description of "rich and deep on the palate" back in 2014. I'm going to persist, and I'll open another bottle and allow it two or three hours in the decanter. Let's see...
