The wine has improved over the last two years. Not a great wine but it is drinking quite nicely now, a couple of hours after opening. Good with roast lamb and pretty good on its own. Enjoyable next day.

Pretty much as described in my earlier note at first. Much better an hour or two after opening. Half the bottle was kept for a day. The wine (and the vanillic oak) was then significantly softer, the fruit seemed sweeter with more cherries and dark fruits. The good balance and spicy notes remained. Really quite a nice wine given time to open. I guess it is still young and will improve in bottle. I will hold the rest for a year or more. I have raised my score a couple of points on the basis of the improvement since it was opened. My advice is don't pop and pour......

Nose restrained at first but spice developed as it warmed in the glass. Palate - strawberry and a touch of redcurrant at first with cherry and spice taking over with time. Quite fragrant and well balanced with gentle creamy, spicy oak. Nice, easy drinking rioja. Next day - fruit, still, but the wine seemed much simpler, more acidic, and perhaps a little rustic. Closer to 85. Interestingly, I see that the latest Decanter just rated this vintage at 89. Hmm.

Blend of Tempranillo (85%), Garnacha 10% and 5% of Mazuelo (Carignan). Savoury cherry notes. Enjoyable enough. Drink now.

Muy potente, tanto en aroma como en boca. Rioja clásico.
