I ended up liking this more than expected. This was Cirq’s inaugural vintage. I normally enjoy a bit more crunchy/bright Pinots, but this showed well in a flight of all 2011 Cali wines.
Likely at peak (this has integrated to the point where I don’t see this improving in profile), this was high toned and very aromatic, but only after 30mins (was initially fairly muted). Potpurri, violets, bright red and black berries, and lots of spice. Improved from bottle over the course of two hours. Initially broad on the palate, it dials everything in toward the finish. Juicy fruits and dark plum. ABV pokes out just a bit. Best around cellar temp. Pop now and enjoy.

No formal notes but consumed over two days; the first day was very nice with everything in balance; very smooth and delicious cola notes and baking spice surrounding sweet cherries and strawberry; more similar to a Kosta Browne versus a Kutch in flavor but not quite as extracted as KB; by day 2, most of the fruit had fallen off and frankly the wine was mediocre; definitely not worth the price

Had this one with the Cirq 2013 in a vertical - while the 2013 is superior, this is excellent.
This one is more "red" fruit as compared to the 2013, and with more spice. Finishes a little bit shorter/thinner, but again, an excellent bottle.

Very nice wine but at this age not nearly worth the $100 tariff.
