The Newburyport Wine Group (Our House, Byfield, MA): Purple color without evidence of bricking. Typical pinot nose of black cherries, some spice and band aid. Palate of dark cherries, earth, and Indian spice. Nice mouthfeel with balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Great wine from a great vintage.

This was a substantial tasting wine. Not a mellow wine at the moment but it has a rich acidic tinge that abates a bit with air. Really enjoyed this be agree with the other poster that this is a bit tight now. Would like to try this in a few years.

Tasted this wine along with the Reserve 2003. The Old Vines 2002 is more structured, woody and lightly tannic. Makes me think the wine will improve with time. The 2003 Reserve is more ripe and fruity. I like this wine and will wait a while before trying this one again.
