Confirms my previous tasting; drink this up. This is getting over the hill. Cigar box, cherries, tar. Acidity starting to dominate somewhat in the mid palette.

I had another bottle of this a few weeks ago which was, although evolved as well, much better than this one. The current bottle is on the brink of falling over. For my palette it's not there yet, but I can imagine for some it has already. Leather and cigar box with ripe cherries on the nose. The palette feels just a tiny bit disjointed however. With air it improved somewhat. There is still some good dose of acidity and tannins though so I am not sure how much you have to hurry to drink this. Maybe this is on off bottle? All in all still fine but I am not going to wait much longer to finish my stack. In any case this is not going to get any better from now on. So drink up.

This has developed much more since the last time I tasted this. On the nose its like opening a cigar box. Some ripe plums in the background. On the palette fruit has receded somewhat further, but still sufficiently present, plums, cherries. Dusty tannins and leather. This is honest value, mom and dad loved this too.

Decanted for an hour. Nose is a bit subdued, almost calm, not flamboyant but still very comfortably present. Not a whole lot a fruit anymore in the nose. Red plum cherries. There is some earthy, forest floor smell that is very pleasant. Oak. On the palette: ripe black berries, cherries, some leather. Good acidity, and smooth tannins. Not a very long after taste. This is some very nice QPR wine, wish I had bought more than the 6 , euh, 5 now, that I have. Not sure though how long they will still keep. I have a feeling it's at prime drinking window now, not expecting a lot more development in this wine. Will keep a few more years though.
