"Nick says ditto" (Chicago, IL): White Burgundy from a bygone era. A wine for a more civilized age. Quite stern on the palate, with a slightly creamy texture. There's little reduction here of course! It's pretty clear that this was a densely textured, thick, opulent wine in its youth, and this bottle still retains a lot of those qualities. Despite the ripeness, this doesn't show any signs of botrytis -- it's clean, mineral and bright. Unfortunately, this didn't hold up with air, and did feel like it was falling apart a few hours in.
