  Colour: dark cherry/burgundy
  Nose: plum, blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry. Peppercorn -- both green and black -- less prominent than I remember from last time, but still there. Earthy. Old French oak.
  Palate: plum, sour cherry, pomegranate. Cassis. Ground black peppercorn, touch of green peppercorn. Earthy, slightly meaty. Savoury. Old French oak. Fresh berry like acidity, fine grained drying tannins. Medium bodied, savoury. 14% alcohol. Perhaps a little short on the palate, but lovely nonetheless.

  Nose: plum, red berries (cranberry?), Blueberry. Lots of peppercorn -- green and black pepper. Touch of jellied fruit. Old oak. Liquorice, leathery.
  Palate: plum, red berries (cranberry?), Blueberry. Still lots of peppercorn, mostly green peppercorn. Liquorice, leathery, earthy rather than fruity. Medium bodied, some smooth soft tannins, mild berry like acidity. Medium bodied, 14.0% alcohol. Lovely, but a little short on the palate.
