Medium golden yellow. A bit closed on the nose with a hint of tropical fruits, hay and a bit stoney. Medium acidity (5.5/10) and medium body. Fresh and stone fruit palate with some pineapple, minerals and some straw. Long finish. Drink till 2028.

Deep lemon color. I was glad I poured this into a chilling carafe, as there was considerable upfront “oakiness” from the neutral oak used for barrel fermentation and the subsequent 11 month lees aging. About an hour in, this really started to show its stuff: sweet honeysuckle, ripe yellow apple, lemon curd, ginger, and some sea spray with some “waxiness” at mid palate. Dry, with medium plus acidity to balance any perceived sweetness from the ripe fruits, and to support a medium long finish. Given the barrel fermentation and aging, I think this can develop and improve significantly over the next few years. Even at five years, this still seemed slightly early. Good benchmark for the other “single vintage” bottles.

Enticing and integrated.
I could have underscored this (had it on a hot nearly 100 degree DC day).
Darker yellow than expected.
