  • Appearance: Bright and clear, it has light ruby color, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of cherry, strawberry and raspberry, animal notes of musk, floral notes of violet, pungent spice of pepper, herbaceous notes of mint. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin which is velvety in texture, showing medium alcohol, light body and medium intensity flavors of red fruit of cherry and strawberry, herbaceous notes of mint, floral notes of violet, kernel notes of roasted almond. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Pernand-Vergelesses with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, dominated by ripe red fruit characters, the wine is quite light but showing plenty of tannin, with fair concentration and length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and can maintain for another 2-3 years.

  • Very much similar to the 2011 two years ago, this started off a bit timid but slowly grew in both stature and power. Judiciously oaked, the wood is perfectly integrated with the dry, refreshing fruit. Very much a savory wine with high acidity, an extremely firm mouthfeel and a lingering, mouth-wateringly tangy finish. Plenty of dry extract. A superb vintage for this wine, truly overdelivers at its price point.
