Wanted to start checking in on and consuming my 04s and thought I would start with this bargain bottle. $16!. Makes me think of all the unfounded comments about Oregon pinot being more expensive than Cali. I digress. Anyway this is showing its age and probably should have been consumed a year or 2 back. That said, it is not falling apart and I think if I had left it in the cellar another 3-5 years it would still be a great drink. This wine is on the ripe side. It has always carried elements of Cali pinot. Fairly simple and tasty. There is some heat on the finish which I could have done without but it did not rob the wine. Certainly one of the most trusted producers year after year.

Beautiful nose that I often pick up in Belle Pente Willamette Valley bottling. Lighter red/garnet in color. Some spice and cherry on the palate, not lacking in acid. Slight bitterness on the finish, but enjoyable nonetheless. Paired well with a barbecued pork chops.
