Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Château des Charmes Gamay Noir is a medium-bodied, easy drinking red wine. It has a purplish red colour and a bouquet of cherry and berry fruit. The palate combines supple tannins and cherry flavours with a long, smooth finish. 1,184 cases produced.
    Harvested October 8, 2004.
“This is such a lovely, bright fresh and fun gamay. The tender 2004 vintage is ideal for this varietal. Expect vibrant, pale ruby colour. Lifted, floral raspberry, watermelon fruit with white pepper and some cement dust. Light to mid weight, taut with juicy wild berry fruit and acidity and light tannin. Good value.”

Gamay Noir is an excellent accompaniment to tomato based pasta and lighter grilled dishes. A fine match with casual barbequed foods
