  2023 Birthday lunch (Aquitaine Brasserie): Tasted alongside RWT and Grange and was not disgraced or seem out of place.
  Classic Barossa characters of ripe blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, some warm spices. 2013 ripeness showing but this still has time to go.

  Very dark red. Very noticeable legs on the glass on day one. Did not taste hot, on the contrary very balanced. Smooth and rich, tons of sweet black fruit, tres cassis, also myrtle, blueberry. Tannins nicely integrated at this stage, oak still lurking and providing a creaminess. Overall a lush experience actually - I have not had an Aussie wine for a long time and had forgotten how straightforwardly easy they can be.

  So great to drink now. Round, smooth, balanced, fruity, good acidity and spices. Typical Barrosa, typical Penfolds.

  Nice enough after a 3 hour decant. It’s Shiraz, it’s Barossa, it’s Penfolds. You know the drill. Hold or drink. 91-93

  Dark purple, black ripe fruits, round, smooth and concentrated. Good oak and tannin. Cellar it for a decade or two and it will only get better! Beautiful wine and great value!
