This is green, even for someone like me that really likes Loire cab franc. I won't go so far as to say I dislike it, but if you like robust fruit, this wine is not for you. Definitely needs food to show its best. Worse after the first day (stored under vacuum seal).

Hmmmm, I'm striking out with all my 2011s thus evening. Aromas of green pepper and eucalyptus. Medicinal flavor, with green pepper. Tannins are still tight. Perhaps more time in the bottle will help.

Drinking very well with a 2 hour decant. Smoke and dark berries on the nose. Blackberries, blueberries, baking spices and a touch of green pepper. The finish continues for close to a minute. I still think Sequoia is a hidden gem. I am not sure how it happens, but, my son always seems to show up on my doorstep when I open a good wine and have steaks. Life is good.

I just can’t get into these Sequoia Grove single vineyard Cabs, especially at the high price point. Not bad, but just average.
