A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): An interesting wine, I believe it is 100% Sangiovese and under $15 on release. The owner of the wine shop had it open at the end of the day and shared a glass. If anything it is a testament that sangiovese, even the less expensive ones can last for a while. This is ruby/brown in color. The nose has dried cherries, crushed leaves and a hint of brown sugar. On the palate, it is a bit more vibrant. Cherries and dried cherries with some layers of forest floor. Good acidity. Nice wine. I would certainly drink it if offered and food would help. Drink up if you have them though.
