  • Second bottle from a case, and last tasted over 2 years ago, this is in a perfect spot. This does benefit from aeration, and the bottle was opened a couple of hours before drinking, and this was perfectly adequate. Grapefruit and lemon are the primary flavour notes on the nose and palate, with a graphite and citrus finish. It struggles to balance, but gets there in the end, leaving an excellent final precision. I actually find the wine performs better chilled. In terms of potential longevity, I will probably look to consume my stock over the next 5 years.

  • Remarkably good bottle. To me this has the weight and depth of a Grand Cru. The fruit is beautifully balanced by acidity at this point in time… palate-coating yet nuanced. Mainly orchard fruits with a lengthy finish. Seems to be hitting its stride and should hold for at least the next couple years. Happy to have a couple more of these so we’ll see how they progress (perhaps not long; i’m sure I won’t be able to resist them!)

  • First time of tasting, this is an absolutely delightful wine and I note any previous critical reviews were 3 years ago or more when it was not ready to drink. I always follow the drinking windows recommended by Burghound and it never disappoints. Apple and citrus fruit are the prominent flavours on the nose and palate with tarter stoney notes on the finish. The combination of the fruit with clean granite gives perfect balance. Likewise the finish is pushing 30 seconds. This was drunk straight from the bottle which had been opened for a couple of hours and this was perfectly adequate. Highly recommended and decent value for money.

  • Still a hit of bracing acidity with a touch of chalk on the finish. Was developing some very interesting notes toward the end of the 2nd hour, but this is begging to be locked in the cellar for a long time.
