As glorious as usual. The 1996 acidity is blending well with the richness of this blanc de noirs. Toasty yeasty nose back by very nice energy and freshness. Allow it to evolve 30 mins to tame the acidity and put things altogether. Showing nicely but will continue to keep. I will save the rest in my cellars to see how it evolves. 16.5+/20

Dinner with Brian and Monica. From memory. I believe this is the correct bottle. Brilliant wine. Prominent honeysuckle aromas with lemon and lime and minerals. Palate follows with less prominent honeysuckle but with incredible acids and minerals, and tart citrus. Excellent body. Linear but complex. Really enjoyed this.

Wine Flock Intro Retro - Cabs (Jordan's): Served blind. This is in an oxidative style (or perhaps just older) that I initially disliked, with some air and time I warmed to it a bit. Apple and pear with some bready notes. A bit of that aged, oxidative note. Good energy. Solid, but I think some dosage or riper fruit would have helped. Disgorged Nov 2004.

Crisp, dry but not sour - fine bubbles - drinking beautifully now - maroon buried in honey color. Paired with grilled octopus and also mushroom risotto at Marea in NYC - the wine activated and seemed to dance with various flavors in the food - amazing value at $265 / bottle at the restaurant IMO - looking for more!

Chicago Wine Flock..."Bordeaux and Cali Cab from Jordan" (Chez Whitehead - Northbrook IL): Tasted double blind, other than knowing it is Champagne. Bready and yeasty, this was clearly older than the other Champagne, but also more focused on that toasty style. Good richness, but clearly maturing. Best to enjoy in the near-term.
