Dull medium deep color. Sour red fruit with a little jam. Asian spice. Forest floor. Sweet fruit. Soft tannins. Medium weight and length. Maybe just a little tired.

The nose reveals; nicely extracted dark red & blue fruits. Rich, ripe, ruby; blackberries, slightly sour dark cherries, slight stewed, black plum & plum, black raspberries, baked & poached strawberries with dry cranberries. Mixed dark berry cola, red licorice, steeped fruit tea, black licorice, softly layered baking spices; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla. Bay leaf, moist clay, limestone minerals, dark chocolate, oak dust, understated, dry crushed rocks, lightly dashed dark spices, just a hint of brett (bandaid/rubber toy), dark, rich, moist earth with dark, red, blue, purple flowers framed in violet fields & wafting lavender.
The body is full, lush, ruby and gorgeous over the palate. The mid palate drops off just a skosh. There is decant tannin presence that’s about 50% resolved. Good now, even better in 3 years. Nicely extracted dark red & blue fruits. Rich, ripe, ruby; blackberries, slightly sour dark cherries, slight stewed, black plum & plum, black raspberries, baked & poached strawberries with dry cranberries. Mixed dark berry cola, red licorice, steeped fruit tea, black licorice, softly layered baking spices; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla. Bay leaf, moist clay, limestone minerals, dark chocolate, mocha with caramel, oak dust, understated, dry crushed rocks, dark spices with a punch of palate heat, a little less brett (bandaid/rubber toy) on the palate, some grilled meats, dry tobacco, oak shavings, dark, rich, moist earth with dark, red, blue, purple flowers framed in violet fields & wafting lavender. The acidity is round & voluptuous. The long finish is; round, rich, ripe, well balanced, heavenly floral with a nice mid earthiness ending in deep spice.

I would call this a nice blend between a California Pinot and a Willamette Pinot. It has lush red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, ting of cranberry) and a creamy sweet finish combined with a leanness, minerality, and structure that is more typical of a young Willamette or Burgundy. I enjoyed this wine, but the drying tannin and abundance of oak on the finish needs to mellow out with a few more years in bottle.

Tasty. Still some tannins up front. Fruit shined through after about an hour. Enjoyed this now but could stay down for longer.
