  • Color: deep red tar tinge. Almost no translucency.
Nose: a bit of red fruit, but primarily cracked pepper, cocoa, and some oak.
Flavor: nuances of dark chocolate, coffee beans, vine bark, French oak, vanilla - a lot of complex flavors (yet surprisingly light) flowing around on the front. A bit of tartness - perhaps cranberry - emerges in the middle, but otherwise, the blend of forward flavors persist. By the finish the tartness subsides along with the flavors and chalky/smooth tannins help finish the wine. The linger lasts a minute or more. Light to Medium bodied.

A young, light, yet rambunctious cab sauv. Very drinkable. Decant for an hour or so to help bring back any overly bitter notes. Not likely to improve much so drink now or hold if you're patient. One last suggestion: let this bottle breathe! Drank on night 3 and the quality shot up to a 91.
