NobleRottersSydney - blind Shiraz (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {screwcap, 14%} (Greg) Near black wine. Intense blackberry aromas, rich and ripe, even a bit fumey with heat. The palate is fresher though, helped by a very Clare spearmint quality to the black berry flavours. Soft dusty tannins, medium body, even medium finish; this is very much a baby and seems to have another 8-10 easy years of development, due to its inherent balance, a quality which I reckon’s been in shorter supply tonight. But, best to wait awhile.

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Dinner 2015 (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {screwcap, 14%} (Greg) Ruby colour. Plush, youthful nose of plums, spice, red fruit, all shot through with a red velvet quality (not really an aroma or flavour I know, but appropriate anyway.) Black-fruited palate; no sign of mint or eucalypt as you might expect from Clare. Liqueured plums, soft spicy oak, and sweet red fruits all culminate via a medium/full-bodied dry palate in a medium length finish, with plenty of heft on the mid-palate. Should age well enough in the mid-term.
