  • {Bought on release, perfect fill, composite cork} Bracing acidity when first sampled from refigerator (too cold), discrete and refined nose without any tutti-frutti stuff, lemon thyme scents, pretty full fore- and mid-palate, lots of minerals and very good length. As the wine warms up the nose and palate elongate and get more complex. A winner. Pair with the right foods and an higher score. Sophisticated, not flashy. Jasper Morris notes from later vintages say a layer of clay over the limestone. No oak.

  • Similar profile to bottle in December 2020 note. This bottle came across as more medium-weight, a touch bigger than the prior bottle; delicious across a broad temperature spectrum, cell -> refrigerator -> room temperature (18C, 65F). Taut yet floral, lots of minerals and length.

  • {1st of a case bought on release; perfect fill} Very light yellow, refreshing nose, delicious mid-palate with saline, "go back for another sip" attractiveness. Yum. Taut yet floral, minerals. Held up well over 3 hours. A south-facing, well-sloped site to the north-east of Chichee. Drinking well now, relatively lighter weight compared to some premier crus in Chablis, but with its own authenticity and verve. A clear step up from the Gautheron villages VV in 2014, a bit more "nervy" energy as Hugh Johnson says ... and a screaming bargain.
