Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 4/21/2012 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): I was pleasantly surprised by what I consider to be atypical for a 14% alcohol Aussie Shiraz. It is more or less balanced with a minimal of those secondary, molasses tainted, high alcohol flavors. Very dark color. The nose is as much flowers, especially violets, as fruity. The blueberry and blackberry fruit comes across as almost sweet, but more earthy, spicy, and grainy. Medium plus bodied. Refined tannins for the price point. not enough oak influence to talk about. The finish is more vanilla and red fruit than the nose and color would indicate.

Well balance, didn't finish quite as fresh as I had hoped. But overall very drinkable
