  • Lemon and grapefruit up front, continuing throughout and finishing with medium acidity. Very interesting for the varietal but not really something worth coming back to

  • Some Inexpensive Italians at a Restaurant (Westlake, Ohio): Not sure I ever had a white Pinot Nero. I get that in some regions, they need a wine like this for tourists at the tasting room. Maybe that is true in Lombardia, but it seemed odd. Blind, of course I would never guess it, but it seemed more like a Sauvignon Blanc IMO. Very pale gold in color. Not a hint of blush or red (I am told they make a blush and a red). The nose is like white grapefruit juice in those little cans. On the palate, the grapefruit, while not as intense, carries thru. Tart acidity. It is fine, nothing particularly wrong with it. I am told its about $18 though. I didn't really hear anyone love it although everyone wanted to try it. Still half the bottle was left.
