Did not decant. First glass was ambiguous. Some fizz and alcoholic. The wine opened up and was very enjoyable. Focused fruit and good aciditiy. Not at all sweet. Needs a short decant to open up. Still dark in the glass with no bricking so this wine still has time. The quality of Pirramimma wines is outstanding but patience is required. Highly recommended but be prepared to wait.

Leafy, dirty herby aroma on opening. 1hr+ in the decanter and it's quietened down somewhat. A deep dense dark red colour with an acidic edge and sharp red fruit. Not my favorite. After 3 hours, still acidic. Wont be buying another.

Nose shows dusty oak, vanilla, and intense fruit (blackcurrant, prune), with hints of pepper and thyme. Slick, slippery mouthfeel, with intense flavours of cassis, tarragon, and oak (vanilla, pepper, nutmeg, cassia). Hard to assess when it's so young and concentrated, but there's a lot to like about it.

My favorite of the reasonable reasonably-priced Aussie Shiraz. The wolf blass grey label is in the same league, and I'd have to taste them side by side to truly judge, but I'd guess this is better. Also less expensive

Like other Pirramimma wines this has taken a long time to settle down. Nice everyday wine. Nice balance between the fruit and acidity.
