I think it was not opened long enough and consumed too fast. It was OK, but nothing of note. I kind of wish I'd opened it sooner since I think it was a bit beyond it's time.

This charming value priced wine has paid dividends with its smoky, licorice and black cherry personality. Round textures and ripe fresh fruit make this a fun wine to pop, pour and taste.

This wine is a very good $20 Bordeaux with an excellent qpr. It has a very expressive nose of dark fruit, leather, licorice, menthol, black pepper and a hint of allspice. The palate is abit more reserved than the nose, displaying notes of subdued black fruit, earth, leather and firm, chalky tannins. I suspect it will take a few more years for the tannins to fully integrate. But again. this is an excellent $20 bottle of wine.

Irre Lakritz und Blaubeernase. Tief und hedonistisch. Glyzerin würde Parker sagen. Am Gaumen noch adstringierend aber auf gutem Weg. Unendlich viele schwarze Früchte, ein Touch Malbec. Ein überraschender und sehr grosser Erfolg. Geschmacklich besteht in der Primärfruchtphase jetzt kein nennenswerter Unterschied im Wert zwischen diesem Wein und dem gleichzeitig getrunkenen Mouton Rohtschild 2006. Da die Rebstöcke auf Pin Beau Solail aber noch jung sind, wird er nicht immer in dieser wunderbaren Verfassung bleiben. Augenblicklich aber 92-93 Punkte

This Chateau only re-started their vineyard in 1997, the 2005 offering is a very dark full bodied wine. The nose is very tight as the wine is still young, you get blackberry, loam. The taste is a subtle fruit with a acidic long finish and edgy hard tannin. A good effort may get better in a few years. 87, good but okay.
