Back to greatness after an off bottle. Decanted 3 hours and just glowing! Velvety and deep. Only problem was deep into the second glass when I took a sip that included a fly. Instinct took over and one second later I had spit everything onto my computer keyboard. I suppose that's still a tasting note: "Excellent except for the fly."
Has aged nicely. Loaded with cherry on the palate. Excellent tannic backbone, and good acidity. Long lingering finish. Could have held off drinking this, my last bottle, for a couple of more years.

Lovely - my Durand shredded the cork (a first!) and I decanted for sediment and cork - even though the wine is approachable quickly, it has a kind of dull, papery taste for the first hour. Really came together 2-3 hours in, and there are all kinds of tastes hidden in that evolution. A nice secret Bordeaux.

(1/09/21) I love this wine. I bought my bottles from a local merchant/auction house about a year ago. The wine had a very healthy appearance, with no bricking and just a touch of the lightening of color that comes with age. There was a strong nose of truffle-infused dark-chocolate-covered black cherries on PnP, and the palate was all black cherries and truffles. The strong presence of truffles in the nose and palate were the extent of the tertiary development here, but these traits made this bottle more advanced than my last bottle, which was ten months ago. 13% abv. (***+/16/92)

This one, an auction purchase, was a bit more advanced than the ones I have cellared myself.
