Dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant at Katathani Beach Resort (1600 Bath/approx. €45). Beautiful setting, cooling sea breeze, waves rolling in. Screw cap. The wine was intense yellow in colour and offered citrus and tropical fruit, joined by honey, then spice, then a wooly not, and finally honey again, with, spicy, well-integrated oak and some sweetness. Full-bodied, with medium-level acidity, a good, soapy/waxy mouthfeel and very good length. The wine paired well with my clam chowder and also should pair well with a wide range of other Asian food. A textbook Chenin. We liked it. I might rate it lower on a different day, but this was just perfect for today's beautiful setting and our food.
