Ugh. Heavily oaked to the point of being unrecognizable as Pinot. Absolutely hate this anonymous, dishonest style of winemaking. Probably charred oak chips were used to cover up the inferior fruit. I served this to my wife without showing her the bottle and she was shocked when I told her it was Pinot. She thought it was Cab. I don't understand why many people find this style attractive - it doesn't even taste good.

Bottled under screwcap, this medium ruby-colored Pinot initially shows some reductive notes that dissipate within 10 minutes of opening. It subsequently shows dried cranberry, baking spice, cola and floral aromas that are followed by similar flavors on a medium-bodied palate. Fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14.3%) and with soft tannins, it is a joy to drink by virtue of its spicy fruit and soft textures. Closing smooth and with medium length, this is a Pinot that stands significantly above its price point. Excellent value here! Drink now-2019.

You could do a whole lot worse for $25 on a pinot. Cherries, cola, spice, some tart things (sorry, I can't give precise notes, this is the second bottle of the night, and my palette is a bit fried). But yum. Solid.

Nice body and a welcomed acidity. Earthy, rusty and some latent plumb. Drink now - 2023.
