  A bit overripe but this is still nice and drinks true to the appellation. Nose leaps from the glass. Crisp bright berry fruits with a jammy finish (that makes it taste a bit overripe). There is something really interesting about this bottle in that it is a dead ringer for a Val d'Aosta Petit Rouge. It has the identical round crunchy grapey fruit one finds there. Having drunk lots of dolcettos and lots of valdoastan wines I have never noticed that before. Interesting.

  Had with a steak and paired nicely. Perfumed nose with a little old world scent. Cherries , a little herb on the palette with a touch of dirt/ chalk dust. Smooth tannins and a medium plus finish . For 20$ a good deal

  Fairly unremarkable, fairly soft with some muddled flavors. Still a good wine that I am happy to drink, but the 2015 is in another league.
