  Second vintage of this wine tasted since the 2009 reviewed last year:
  On nose: tomato plant , Indian spices , and faint black licorice .
  On palate: all above flavour notes, in addition to present oak, tart prune plums, , cigar tobacco , and notes of rosemary....would be hard pressed in a blind tasting to identify this as 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc , Bordeaux varietals ....but volcanic Sicilian soil is very distinctive ...a singular and expressive wine , dark and opaque in the glass with a dense purple rim....went well with , roast beef , roast potatoes and asparagus ......enjoyable, but with low tannins , at 11 years of age , may hold , but drink up sooner than later.

  Aged to peak maturity. Italian herbs, red-black cherry reduction, leather/rawhide. Drink now-2019.
