RDWINER has it exactly; "Uppermiddle of the pack" when it comes to flavor and varietal correctness. Amazing value at the $9.00 I paid for these. It seems a little softer after 8 months in the cellar. The acid and ripe fruits are still present but it tastes less peppery at this stage. I hope the 2014 version is just as good

I allowed this wine to decant for at least an hour It has a medium body and beautiful color but the taste did not impress me. So I decided to wait and taste it the next night, there was a little improvement but midway on the palate it is slightly bitter and the finish is bitter to me. It is almost like this wines needs a couple of more years as there is a lovely rich not sweet fruity flavor between the bitter taste. Now I am not totally con this wine as I think it would go well with a variety of barbecued meats with strong flavors - or a good spicy Neapolitan pizza. It's just not for me.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis) and cinnamon. It tastes like red currant, raspberry, black currant (cassis), plum, light toast and black pepper. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Dark, spicy, and full of peppery Zinfandel character.
