Lighter styled, clear ruby color, berries and leafy on nose. Can taste the Cab berries and fruit but they’re definitely more tart/acidic, and greener. Needs several more years to reduce liveliness, but will always be lighter wine.

Mazzei Visit (Castellina-in-Chianti, Tuscany, Italy): Nose: The nose is distinctive and aromatic with eucalyptus, dark red cherries, licorice, red and black currants, spice notes, and a slight hint of freshly picked herbs. There is excellent balance and depth to the nose though it is wound slightly tight.
Taste: Full bodied with medium acidity and medium+ tannins. The feel is refined with the tannins distinctively showing youth all backed up with eucalyptus, dark red cherries, licorice, black currants, spice tones, vanilla beans, and some bell pepper notes.
Overall: This is a lovely young Cabernet Sauvignon. It is well balanced with good depth and clearly Cabernet. It certainly shows youth, but it doesn't feel like a large amount of aging will be required for this to achieve it's peak.

(Marchesi Mazzei "Philip" Toscana IGT) Dark ruby color; savory, balsamic, tart black fruit nose; savory, tasty, balsamic, tart black fruit palate with good balancing acidity; needs 2 years; medium-plus finish

Coravin tasting 1-20-19
A little light
somewhat disappointing based on the price
maybe it'll get better with time.
3/25/2020 covavin again. I guess this got better because I don't think it was a little light.

Not a very good Vintage for this wine. Rather thin.
