  Ruby color with orange rim.
  Smooth, round, full mouth. Cherry fruit though fading to complex memories.
  Very tasty full mouthful of flavor and a very pleasant mouthful of wine right now. Enough black cherry fruit left with a long black cherry finish.
  So good right now (this bottle) but not going to get any better.

  Very dark, no bricking. Musty nose with some remaining sweetness. Fruit mostly gone but still pretty dense, dominated by acid and wood, with a lot of secondary notes (bay, Indian spice?), and enough tannin left to coat your mouth at the end. This must have been a powerhouse when young. It has held up very well for 39 years.
