  • Little signs of ageing - still a greeny straw coloured in the glass. Huge of white peach, lime, mint and a huge blast of petrol. Signature BW minerality on the palate - super fresh dry and juicy with crisp green apple, half-ripe apricot and bright citrus fruit. Mouth watering acidity and an incredibly fine, long mineral finish with some herbal tertiary elements. For me this is an absolutely pure expression of riesling and will last for years to come.

  • From 75cl, corked: Disgusting, undrinkable.

  • From 75cl, good cork. Wood smoke on the nose and some deep, swampy mineral funk on the palate add a little interest to this otherwise sweet, low-acid, grapey, old-school Pflalz Kabinett. I felt this had lost some tone and promise compared to how I remember my previous bottle, 18 months ago. 86P(?)

  • From 75cl, good cork. Residual SO2, sweet apricot/peach pollen, lemon zest and powdered stone on the nose; apricot-led tropical fruit mix (pineapple, maracuja and that mongrel taste of Multivitaminsaft patrons of German discount supermarkets know and love) on the mid-palate and a short but impressively mineral finish. This morphed from being as sweet as a retro-Kabinett on opening to quite dry after 2 hours (it does indeed say "trocken" on the back label). Just drinkable now, but worth waiting 2-5 years until maturity. My gut says 89P, but my brain says there might just be potential for up to 91P(?)
