Dark fruited, ripe. Resolved tannins. Perfectly enjoyable, but I had hoped for more expression of place. Any volcanic characteristics it may have are quite muted.

This wine has really come into its own. It leads with delicious dark fruits as other commenters have stated, it has thick legs that clearly indicate some sweetness but the acid and tannins bring a strong structure to the wine that gives it incredible balance. A classic volcanic soils wine in many ways: great minerality with other flavors to complement the mint, dark fruit, bay, and tannins. Decant if you drink in the next couple of years. It is a tannic, concentrated wine—in keeping with volcanic soil wines, it is dense. Deeply, deliciously dense.

The nose showed intense crushed raspberry with notes of clove, anise, and spice. On the palate, I found medium-bodied textures with intense dark fruit, giving way to wild herbs and peppery spice. It finished medium in length with fine tannin and savory spices lingering on.

PnP. Consumed over two nights. A bit rustic. Unclear whether it will outgrow that. 11-14%
