Still looks rather undeveloped, fairly dense for a Bourgogne. Quite decent body but I found the acid streak running through it too dominating. Not the first 2014 like that.

Needs age definitely. Good body and balance, nose a bit reticent at this stage. A definite keeper. I've found other wines from this maker that have gone into a dumb phase. Patience will be rewarded.

This has really improved over the past year or so. Still purple-tinged deep red, but the oak is more integrated. Good deep red fruit and a finely velvety texture on the finish. Quite densely-fruited. This lacks the flavour complexity for something more serious, but texturally it is at village plus level. Impressive. ***

Deep ruby, dense and almost purple tinged. Dark fruit and oak on the nose. Quite oaky on the palate, good fruit in a reasonably dense but two dimensional package. Decent, but lacks the excitement, transparency, complexity and joie de vivre of the Mugneret Gibourg example currently. Bare *** Will see how this opens up overnight.
