Dark garnet color with impressive clear rim. Prunes, raisins, stewed plumb. Slight mineral, abundant oak. Pronounced, shaggy tannins, but acidity still present. It was better after 90 minutes, but I think it would have been best 5 years ago. EDIT: I feel like I should add 3 bonus points for the really cool bottle shape!

Grapey, extracted smell, almost pruney. Acidic, minimal tannins. Does not taste 11 years old. This was a complete surprise to me. The acidity makes it better w food than without. Not like any other region I can think of.

dried fruit, leather, a bit of savory crushed herbs, perhaps dried sage. Moderate tannin, with a very present acidity that cries out for food.
