  • What a great little wine for everyday drinking. Charmingly unpretentious, clean, gentle tannins, hint of wood, defined fruit and no thrills, perfect for a restaurant house wine, can be, should be enjoyed slightly chilled, too. Absolutely NOTHING to dislike about it, you know you´re onto a winner when you pop that synthetic closure and the fruit just oozes out. Thank heaven there´re still vineyards in Europe making and bottling wine to be drunk by people who don´t have lawyer or plastic surgeon style salaries! Unbeatable value, I buy it by the case load, 2-3 euros a pop. Mr Parker liked the 2008 bottling so much he 89ed it ! So much for using it as "cooking" wine ! Who the hell uses red wine for cooking anyway?

  • As with my previous bottle, i used most of the wine for cooking, but I tried the wine on day 1 and 2 after opening and feel inclined to write a new tasting note as the previous bottle may have been slightly defective. Although this is not a great wine, it isn't bad and there were no chemical or funky notes in this bottle. A standard, simple, everyday Spanish red.

  • I used this mainly for cooking but had a glass each on day 1 and day 3 after opening as well. Slightly funky (=good in my opinion) and chemical (=not good) nose with blackberries and meat. Not much tannins or structure, but juicy and drinkable. Some alcohol in the aftertaste. Good enough for cooking.
